28" Fire Pit - Lighting instructions

First, reset the propane tank (only necessary when troubleshooting lighting problems)

1. Turn the gas control on your patio heater or fire pit to the OFF position. Turn the shutoff valve on the propane tank to the OFF position by turning rotating the valve in a clockwise direction until it is fully closed.

2. Disconnect the regulator from the propane tank shutoff valve by twisting the knurled mounting knob in a counterclockwise direction. The regulator should now simply pull away from the propane tank valve.

3. Re-attach the regulator to the propane tank shutoff valve by threading the mounting knob back onto the valve. Screw the mounting knob in the clockwise direction until it is tight. Hand tighten only, do not use tools.

Lighting procedure:

1. Turn the fire pit burner control knob to the “OFF” position

2. Fully open propane cylinder valve.

3. Push the burner control knob in and turn counter-clockwise to “HIGH”. Keep knob pushed in for 10 seconds while air is purged from the gas line. If needed, repeat depressing and turning control knob counter-clockwise to "HIGH" until the heater lights (the knob will "click" when turning)

***Note: For initial start or after any cylinder change, push and hold Control Knob IN at the HIGH position for 10 seconds to be sure air is purged from gas lines before proceeding.

4. After fire pit lights, continue to depress the burner control knob for 10 seconds to activate the thermocouple. Release control knob and turn to adjust flame height.

Note: If burner fails to remain lit, all valves should be closed and a waiting period of at least 5 minutes should pass before attempting to light. Be sure to clear and glass or lava rocks that may have found their way into the small, perforated metal box adjacent to the burner. Foreign objects there will hinder ignition and gas flow.
